I've decided to try something new. I developed this idea after reading a post by Anne Marie over at Goals For The Week. It was about setting obtainable goals for yourself and breaking them down to achieve them. Also, picturing yourself in 6 months, 1 year, and 5 years from now; then creating smaller steps to achieve your goals/visions of where you want to be.
So each Saturday I'm going to write a 'Weekly Wrap-Up'. This will include several different 'lists' or 'sections'.
First - What I'm Grateful For - This will be a list of things that I'm grateful for from the week gone by. It is an attempt at making me stop and appreciate the moments in life we take for granted. Large and small, these things should be acknowledged.
Second - What I'm Looking Forward Too - Too often we dread the work week ahead, can find nothing good in the days to come, and go about our lives moping from one day to the next. This list will help me find things to look forward to, things to strive towards and get excited about.
Third - Goals For The Week - A list of SMART goals for the coming week. (borrowed this from Anne Marie too!) SMART = Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time related. Nothing vague or huge, just small, reasonable steps I can make to set my life in the direction it needs to be to obtain my future goals.
And lastly, once a month, the first week of the new month, I will list out my long term goals for running and in my personal life. I'll update them as needed and write about my progress towards them.
I hope this turns in to a regular and helpful thing on the blog. And I look forward to hearing your feedback and support each week. :)
