Race Bag Swag

Unfortunately, due to Swine Flue the common cold + a sinus infection, I have no running to report to you. I do however have massive amounts of green snot & tissue in my house! I've also tested the effects of Nyquil (helps you sleep for 4 hours, you're on your own after that...helllooooo 2am coughing and hacking!) and sleeping on the couch (why is the couch so much more comfy than the bed?).

Due to the lack of running-related information, I had to make something up for Friday's post, so we're going to take a look at one of my favorite topics: FREE STUFF!!

My DH says I have a bad case of 'free-stuff-itis'. It's completely true. If you're handing/giving something out I'm THERE! T-shirts? There! Stickers? There! Magnets? Pens? Keychains? There There There!! So what better sport for a sufferer of this disease to participate in than running? Have you ever heard of a race packet?? It's like heaven to me!!! I actually torture myself, running for miles on end, just to get my bag with a free shirt and a flier to a local chiropractic.

I have a 5k I'm running tomorrow and had to go pick up my packet today. To my surprise I found more than just the typical cotton t-shirt and race number.... (yes...I actually get excited about this stuff lol)
  • A Water Bottle
  • Sports Beans
  • Biofreeze Gel
  • Pens
  • Asics Running Shoe Keychain
  • Free Appetizer Coupon
  • and a nice White Tech Tee
My Idea of Christmas:

I was like a kid in a candy store. I raced back to my car and started going through the bag. So excited!! Free stuff!!! This reaction is a common side effect to Free-Stuff-Itis and my DH is quite used to it by now.

If you, or someone you know, suffers from this terrible disease, contact your local Free-Stuff-Itis support center. Symptoms include: waiting in long lines for meaningless free junk, searching on Google for blog giveaways, coupons, and samples, buying things not needed for free gift included, and the accumulation of pens, key chains, stickers, fliers, t-shirts, etc.

Do you get as excited about race packets as I do???

PS~~ Don't forget to enter the awesome giveaways over on my sidebar :) Good luck!

  1. That is one fruitful swag bag! Things have really dried up at races the past couple of years. Enjoy whatever you can get!

  2. What a funny post...I am your opposite. I don't like free things that come in those bags at all. I can't bring myself to just throw it away so I stuff it in a drawer and clean it out once a year and then throw it away! The only thing I really ever use is the t-shirt(nightgown)and maybe a pen! Hey, I should send my swag to you :) !
