First off, big news! I'm ordering a Garmin Forerunner 305 on Friday!!! I am so &$#*$#& thrilled!!!!!
My new baby:
Ok...that's out of my system.
As I mentioned before, the 5K this past weekend made me realize I need to move some of my training outdoors. So I revised my training to where I run 2x/week outside and 2x/week on the treadmill. I get off after dark during the week so those are the nights I have to take it indoors. *insert sad face here* Today was my first day taking it outside. I went to the city park where we have a great 2mi loop. It's half asphalt/half red clay with lots of curves and lots-o-fun. There are a few 'uphill' stretches, and a really long 'downhill' stretch (that's the one I like lol). Of course these could be reversed by running the loop in the opposite direction (I'll keep my long downhill stretch, thank you!). The weather was great today, the wind not too strong, and the track pretty much empty. So if I fell on my face they're wouldn't be too many witnesses. I managed the 2 miles (not counting warm up/cool down) in about 25 min. Not too shabby for me. It felt good being outside, pretending to be a 'real runner'. Actually, I saw several people doing the interval training like me (ooh, btw...discontinued the C25K program, more on that at a later date). And a lot more walkers than I had anticipated (Why do I feel like such a snob jogging past the walkers?? Of course I feel like a noob when I am at my walking interval...grrrr).
Since it was a little cool today (61 degrees) I decided to test out my new running outfit I had yet to wear. A gorgeous bright pink long sleeve shirt from Reebok and black & pink Nike running shorts. I have never used running shorts before (you know, with the built in liners ladies), so I was a little apprehensive. I really didn't want my business out there for all the world to see. But I decided, eh..what's the harm in a little mid-day butt-cheek showing? So I headed out. Wow those things are comfy!!! I felt so much better in them than any of my bike-shorts & capris I've been wearing. I'm definately investing in another pair or two this weekend!
Here's my pur-dy little outfit:
Congrats on the Garmin buying! SCORE!!! Uber cute little outfit! I love the Nike shorts with the built in undies and since you're new to them I will answer the question that's probably brewing in your head... to wear underwear or not... some people do and some don't it's up to you. In the winter I do, in the summer I don't. :)
ReplyDeleteHow did you know Morgan?? lol I went commando today...not so bad. Much better than the thong I was wearing under the bike shorts!! :) (should re-label this blog 'TMI')
ReplyDeleteI'm super jealous of the garmin. :)
